During Composites Week, industry professionals will have an opportunity to visit companies in the Nantes area. By demonstrating their skill, the companies will illustrate the region’s industrial prowess:

Pays de la Loire enjoys a remarkable concentration of expertise in technologies that make practical use of composite materials:
- Remarkable due to the wealth of assets in the Pays de la Loire, ranging from large contractors to specialised SMEs, such as Aérolia, Airbus, Daher Socata, Duqueine Atlantique, EADS IW, Hexcel and Sora Composites. These companies have the support of the teams at Cetim and other technology centres for their growth.
- Remarkable due to the diversity of the business sectors mastering the use of composite materials, including the aeronautical, automotive, construction, civil engineering, naval and recreational vehicle industries.
- Remarkable due to the wealth of academic and technology R&D resources : 22 research laboratories, including 10 CNRSfacilities (French national scientific research centre) ; one exceptional research centre, Technocampus EMC², encompassing businesses and elite institutions of higher learning ; as well as the Cemcat technology transfer platform in Laval.
This regional concentration of players in the material composites sector has led to the creation of the EMC2 competitiveness cluster, which is extensively involved in the automotive, aeronautical and naval segments of the flagship DEFI Composites programme.
